Zolfo Cooper Announces Senior Promotions

New York, January, 2015 -- Zolfo Cooper is pleased to announce that Richard Collura and Eric Koza have been promoted to managing director. These promotions support the firm’s mission to deliver hands-on restructuring leadership to clients to resolve their most difficult financial, operational and strategic challenges.


Richard Collura


Managing director in Zolfo Cooper’s Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice, Richie has over 18 years of experience in providing forensic accounting, litigation consulting and auditing services. He has worked with counsel to advise clients throughout all phases of investigations, litigation and bankruptcy cases. Richie has extensive experience uncovering financial and accounting fraud schemes and performing complex flow of funds analyses. He has assisted counsel with evaluating solvency issues, fraudulent conveyance actions, and breaches of contract and fiduciary duty claims.


Before joining Zolfo Cooper, Richie was a director in FTI Consulting’s forensic and litigation consulting practice and a senior auditor at Ernst & Young. He received a B.S. in accounting from Fordham University. Richie is a CPA, CFE, CIRA and is also certified in financial forensics by the AICPA.


Eric Koza


Eric has more than 17 years of experience providing leadership in complex and distressed situations as executive officer of a public company, financial advisor, principal investor and director of public and private companies. His unique combination of restructuring, operating and transaction experience spans multiple countries and industries.


As SVP of a $1.5 billion public company, Eric oversaw the unwinding of a complex holding company through a series of transactions (sale, spin-off and merger) involving three operating subsidiaries.


Notable ZC assignments include Guilford Performance Textiles, Motor Coach Industries, Trans World Entertainment, Dominion Petroleum, Harlan Labs, ICBC Broadcast Holdings and confidential matters in energy, shipping, manufacturing and consumer products.


Eric spent over a decade as a principal investing across the capital structure in distressed and highly leveraged companies. He earned a B.S. from Boston College, an M.B.A. from Boston University (Beta Gamma Sigma), and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
