Jason Keyes, a senior director at Zolfo Cooper, has over ten years of restructuring, finance and turnaround experience. He has advised companies, creditors and investors across a variety of industries both in-court and out-of-court. He has extensive experience in all areas of the restructuring process including business plan analysis, negotiations and valuation.

Professional Experience

Jason recently advised Pacific Exploration and Production, Latin America's largest independent oil producer. Jason was integral to Pacific's DIP structuring, business plan development and strategic planning. Pacific was able to successfully raise $500 million in DIP financing to support the turnaround.

Previously Jason advised Preferred Sands, a leading miner of hydraulic fracturing and resin-coated sand. Over the course of a one-year turnaround and refinancing process, debt pricing went from the mid-50s to 115. Preferred was able to refinance its entire capital structure and the company's founder was able to maintain control.

Jason has significant experience in the infrastructure space, having advised the lenders of Northwest Parkway, GCT Global Container Terminals, Maher Terminals, and the ad hoc lender groups of several large international infrastructure projects. Jason's work has led to the restructuring of over $10 billion in infrastructure-related debt across nine companies.

Jason has advised Official Committees at Alpha Natural Resources, American Apparel, Patriot Coal, Chassix and Allied Nevada Gold. Jason has also advised ad hoc committees at Marco Polo Seatrade B.V., a Dutch shipping company, and the Source Interlink Companies, a $2.4 billion media publisher and distributor.

Prior to pursuing his M.B.A., Jason was a senior associate at KPMG, where he provided auditing and accounting services to Fortune 500 companies.
