Gabe Lewis is a director at Zolfo Cooper with over 11 years of financial and restructuring experience, including significant involvement in investment banking and capital markets transactions.
Gabe has completed financial advisory engagements for both companies and creditor groups. He recently prepared a performance improvement study for a large international transportation company. He also recently represented creditor committees in Chapter 11 cases including Verso Corp, Caesars Entertainment and James River Coal.
Prior to joining Zolfo Cooper, Gabe was with Alvarez & Marsal, specializing in financial restructuring, strategic advisory, M&A, secured and unsecured debt financings, equity financings, valuation and transaction opinions. Notable assignments include advising the secured lenders of LifeCare Holdings and Evergreen International Aviation. Other assignments included preparation of strategic alternatives for the management of M*Modal Inc. and a valuation report for the 1st lien lenders of Tactical Holdings.
Before joining A&M, Gabe was an associate at Jefferies Group where he worked in the maritime investment banking group, participating in convertible bond and high yield offerings in addition to the restructuring of Omega Navigation in bankruptcy. He was also involved in developing a fairness opinion in support of the merger of Crude Carriers and Capital Product Partners.
Gabe completed the three-year analyst program in the financial restructuring group at Houlihan Lokey, performing advisory services for companies involved in recapitalizations, special situations, and/or bankruptcy. While at HL, Gabe represented the unsecured creditors of WCI Communities, in addition to performing a real estate valuation and a fairness opinion for the independent committee of Northstar Capital Investment Corp., the largest holder of Morgans Hotel Group at the time. Gabe also participated in deals including Solutia, Inc., Winn-Dixie, Linens ‘n Things, J.L. French Automotive and MasterCraft Boat Company.
Gabe began his career as a trading assistant on the distressed trading desk of Concordia Advisors.
